Today we worked on how to write a proper lab report. The proper format of the lab report as well as an example is on our website at the link below. I have attached the investigation that we conducted and it can be done at home. Writing technical papers can be a difficult task for even the best of writers. Use the format that I have given you as well as the graphic organizer and you will do well. By the end of the year, you will have the skills to write a professional, technical paper.
Today we began our look at the Scientific Method by watching how the crew of Mythbusters conduct their experiments. We did not have enough time to complete the lab equipment portion of the lesson.
Today we discussed lab safety in the classroom. You were also given the Lab Safety Agreement which needs to be taken home, signed by your parent/guardian and brought back home. You had your first worksheet today as well. If you did not complete it and were not able to read all of the MSDS sheets, you will find them below.
Today we went over the expectations and rules for the class. Make sure that you read the syllabus below and bring your 3 ring binder next class.
We took our FINAL QUIZ today! Use the simulation linked below to complete your preperations for your upcoming test. Your lab sheets are class copies, so turn in your answers on your own paper.
We took the last two days to prepare ourselves for our upcoming Unit 4 Test. Students were given different options as to how they were going to prepare themselves depending on where they felt they need to study. Take a look at the notes below to determine how you should prepare yourself for your assessment.In order to recieve a C on the test, you must be able to master the following: •Magnetism –Electricity & Magnetism relationship –Generators vs. Motors •Electrostatics –Identify negative and positive and how they react to each other –Insulators and Conductors –Grounding –Methods of building charges •Circuits –Build a Series or Parallel Circuit –Label Symbols –Calculate Current, Resistance and Voltage In order to recieve a B on the test, you must be able to master the following: •Meters –Be able to correctly use meters to measure Resistance, Current and Voltage •Power –Be able to calculate Electrical Power In order to recieve an A on the test, you must be able to master the following: –Calculate cost of Electrical Power •Build and Calculate Complex Circuits
If you choose to work on the C portion of the test only, you must have the following two worksheets completed and in your binder.
If you choose to work on the B-A sections of the test, you must have two of the following three worksheets completed and in your binder.
