We took the day to go over Newton's 3 laws so that we all had a clear understanding. There is a 15 question activity below that we worked on together.
Newton's 3rd Law of Motion is one of hardest to understand. If you are struggling with the concept, don't feel bad. Sir Isaac Newton struggled with it as well. The first part of the worksheet will give you the law and the video below will help your understanding. The rest of the worksheet is a computer lab that we did. Make sure that you follow the instructions on logging in and have fun taking the Leaning Tower of Pisa up to the moon!
We began watching parts of the movie Apollo 13 and discussing how Newton's Laws apply to NASA's space program.
In the first unit we discussed that acceleration is the rate an object is either speeding up or slowing down. We also learned that acceleration includes change direction as well. Now, we are going to study why that object accelerated in the first place. This is Newton's 2nd Law or F=ma. We discussed two new vocabulary words as well. Gravity Weight Check out the great videos below to help your understanding.
We began Unit 2 by discussing Sir Isaac Newton and the Laws that he defined. Our notes are below as well as some great videos demonstrating Force and Inertia. We had two new vocabulary words: FORCE INERTIA
