We will be taking the test for Unit 3-Energy next week. This test will be different that the test that we have taken in the past. You will be able to use your Binders and Textbooks on the test. It SHOULD take you the entire class period to complete your test, so be prepared for the long burn. The test review is below as well as a key to check yourselves on. Your binders will be due that day as well, so make sure that they are ready to turn in. Good Luck and Work Hard!

The last lesson for the Energy Unit deals with Nuclear Reactions and how we harness all of that energy into something useful. Use the videos below to help understand how nuclear reactors work and how we transform heat energy into electricity.
In our Pre-AP Physics class, the subject of Light is one of our favorites and most interesting lessons. We LOVE this unit. We spend around 5-6 weeks talking about reflection, refraction, images and any other crazy magic trick that you have seen that has to do with optical illusions. Unfortunately, in PS we only get one day to talk about this facinating subject. Check out the cool videos down below.
The study of how heat transfers or moves. Over the next few lessons, we will be discussing topics of Physics that are more broudly covered in Conceptual or Pre-AP Physics. There are concepts that we need to learn about for Physical Science, but that would not take much of our time in class. I will be introducing new phenomena and concepts to you that, hopefully, you will be interested in. IF you are, take one of the higher physics classes
Today we reviewed the concept of the Law of Conservation of Energy by going to the computer lab and working with a Physics Simulation. Click the link below to go to the PHET Simulation 'Skateland Park'

Class CalendarThis is a copy of my working calendar and is HIGHLY subject to change. I include this calendar here so that you will have a good guidline as to our schedule and pace. A more updated version of the calendar will be at the front of the classroom. It will be your responsibility to refer to that calendar for more accurate information. Archives
